You can't control what other people do, only how you react to it. I think you -and maybe your mom alongside you- should speak to a professional therapist who can give you the tools you need to get through this situation.

no problem i’m just speaking from my own experience with an abusive relationship, sounds like you’re unfortunately familiar with that as well. How sad that he got away from here but not really because it’s not affecting just his life now.
