It's not the only reason we're ending an almost 20-year marriage, but it was a minor contributing factor. I didn't tell him what to do or threaten anything, just couldn't force myself to kiss anyone whose facial hair feels uncomfortable and off-putting to me. I don't blame OP at all.

Your boyfriend lied to you in the beginning, hoping he'd be able to impose his beliefs once you were invested in the relationship. If your relationship continues, he will continue to increase his demands until you convert and your future children are raised in his religion. Is this something you want?
