If you stay, you are teaching your child that it is okay to accept the treatment and dynamic you both have. You both are the first glimpse of what a relationship between adults is like. Do you really want your kid to witness that? Show them that one should tolerate that kind of behavior from someone that is supposed to love you?
Talk to a divorce lawyer and try to find a way to get full custody of your kid. Don’t also abandon your child because they are not at fault here.
It's interesting that you brought that up, and made me realize some thing at least about myself. I think I would feel nervous, or intimidated, speaking to someone I knew was a successful engineer. I would be afraid of being boring, that our conversations just wouldn't be stimulating in the slightest. Perhaps I'm not the only one, and OP's husband has experienced this? Idk.
