Without reading all of the prior comments, anything anyone else is saying with any certainty about him, his feelings, his motives etc., is stuff they’re just making up. They could be right, but the only one who knows what his true feelings and motives are is him, and then only if he’s being honest with himself.
The bottom line is that even if it is all just platonic between them, you have valid values, boundaries and expectations of your partner, and he’s not prioritizing or respecting them. You’re absolutely right to be concerned and not pretend that these aren’t red flags, especially because you two don’t appear to have good enough communication to talk about this in a respectful, authentic, safe, effective way.
That is an even bigger red flag to me.

i respect (and love) him. i really do. i asked my roommate (who has heard his singing) if i was just overreacting or if it was truly bad and he agreed that it's bad. he doesn't have very good pitch and just bursts out singing at random times.
