There is so much in your post that makes complete sense and is so clear and accurate. Not being able to focus on or see a lot of what you said clearly during that time was due to my pride. I think to a certain degree I felt good knowing that she was doing all of this stuff to leave her ex and choose me. It was completely selfish of me to think that way, and in adopting that mindset I allowed abuses to occur to me without realizing just how damaging they would be long-term if we did enter into a relationship together.
Your post is prompting a lot more thinking in me right now and I can't even necessarily articulate all of it in my reply to you. But thank you for this.
