Your gf was not reasonable here, no. It sounds like you tried to get her involved and invited her to join, and she just said no. You can hardly be blamed for her feeling excluded when she is literally the one excluding herself.
I doubt it was about the exercise routines. I think perhaps she is just dealing with some jealousy here. It might be worth asking / digging into whether she feels threatened by this new FF and then assuring her that you are just friends.
Nobody ever has a right to tell their partner they cannot hang out with their friends. That's only ever an issue of jealousy. Requiring someone else to take special action just so that your own jealousy doesn't get triggered is extremely unhealthy and very unfair.
I think if you realize that there is nothing you can “do” to 100% fix this and think of moving forward with contrition and as a better person is the best form of respect you can pay to the situation.
Without a clear layout of the house that could change my mind, I side with him.
