it’s been pretty much two years and we are struggling to keep it together.
I am more concerned about this part than his comment. A chronic relationship issue is a worse sign than a one time thing he said. Struggling to keep it together means there are issues that haven't been dealt with. If these issues are something that arent going to be fixed and you are just tolerating each other then that's just a forced relationship. In the long run thats just not good.
This is one of the situations where a paternity test is required. Why is this guy spending so much time with your wife and son? Doesn't he have other friends/romantic interests?
