2 months is really fast to be hearing/feeling that strongly. Unless you two were friends beforehand and really knew each other deeply and know where your goals are in life and that they align.
All I can think of is when I was 25, I was all over the place, being a cocky/arrogant piece of shit that couldn't handle feeling that deeply for somebody (probably because the year before I did feel that way and got my guts ripped out).
Is there some trauma on your end that's making you averse to thinking longterm?
And chances are if you didn't do anything she also would have been mad at you but for different reasons.
You did what you had to do to protect her, yourself and your house. She'll understand that and get over it eventually. Or not. In that case, not a big loss.

If it helps, my personal experience with depression is that a combination of things started to unlock doors for me. For example: That 'up' feeling people talk about getting from exercise? Never felt that as an adult. I made a regular lifting habit, but did it on pure willpower and liking the results, no joy in the activity. Until I was lifting regularly AND did therapy AND got on brain meds. Now the 'Wheeee this is fuuuuun' fairy shows up about one out of every five workouts.
That's kind of what I was thinking, yeah. Although I'm definitely not older than her father. That would be an even higher degree of weird. I would also like to state, for the record, that this is the first person so much younger than me that I have ever been remotely interested in, which is why I'm very conflicted. I'm not sure how to navigate these situations.

Definitely suffers from mental health issues and at least partially gets it treated. I do as well and do therapy instead. That I definitely don’t even know how to approach until some other balance is in order with our responsibilities
