that's part of it, but i think he wants to “mold” you in a way that is completely subservient to his wants, desires, and needs. You're still malleable (and rightly so, you're young and haven't found the real “you” yet), and he thinks he can make the perfect mate for himself by getting you to like certain things and think certain things. definitely nope out of there.
Gyms (and gym parking lots) are hotspots for thieves. Thieves know people take off their valuables when they exercise.
Definitely ask the gym to check the cameras.
So, he has definitely settled into being 'comfortable' with you. But you are 50% to blame here. You don't have to wait for him to organise things and if you want to go on a date or whatever, you can organise it.
That said, if it ends up with you ALWAYS organising things and him never bothering…well, that's another issue you need to discuss. But frankly, you need to be direct and tell this guy you aren't happy with how things are and things have to change. The relationship has become stagnent and you don't enjoy it anymore.
