Well always know that you can rebuild what you have on better foundations. It is possible but you both have to want it.
Usually STI tests are done in pregnancy, but with allegations of cheating, please mention this to your doctor (when your partner is out of the room) and have a test panel done!! If that's clear, do one again at a later date to be sure.
There is no good way to look at this. Either he is cheating (and his response, plus your comment on his quite patch) suggests the answer is a yes he cheated. Or he has someone (past or potential girlfriend) who wants to break you up. It is worrying he didn't deny it, even cheaters usually deny it at first, he didn't even do that.
The drawback to confronting him is that if he is/was cheating, he will now cover it up or hide it better.
Was this pregnancy planned? Did he want the baby? Could he be trying to get out of the relationship?
You need to think back and see if there were other signs: times away, different behaviours, anything that you might in hindsight think…. oh perhaps that trip/evening function, hiding his phone, taking calls outside… Think about women in your social circles, at his work – does anyone stand out as overly invested in him?
You need to decide your course of action if you find out he has been cheating: do you stay? Would you leave?
I think his response was weird, wonder if he knew a letter or something was coming and he planned to act cool and have an answer ready that might explain it. Most people accused, guilty or not, would react with shock and denial. That answer was just too nonchalant.
