You're right… I want to be present with her because while she doesn't know anything about cars (she admits it herself) I am very much a “car guy” with a bit of mechanical knowledge. And I'm afraid I might come across as the pretentious expert to her. But at the same time her stubbornness really shocks me as this is a hill she's clearly willing to die on. At the end of the day it's her money and I could say if she wastes it on a bad purchase that's her problem but I would feel guilty if the car breaks down and the problem is something I could have detected before buying the it.

The only thing which I'm unsure about is that he does this on a regular basis. Furthermore, we also don't see each other much irl due to going to different schools and having busy timetables after.
I think this dependency on texting for spending time with each other is also pretty unhealthy, however it is what it is for now.
Just because I have a great security system and insurance plan doesn’t mean that I have to sit by, do nothing, and watch someone try and break into my car.
His girlfriend may have zero interest in other guys, that doesn’t mean OP has to sit by and do nothing while other guys try and lure him away.
