1. Sometime romantic overlap isn't about expectations… it's about insight.

   You are not expecting too much from a boyfriend… it's just this guy doesn't have enough insight to himself that he legitimately does not have TIME for a girlfriend.

   You guys should not be “exclusive” if he does not have the bandwidth to see you weekly or communicate daily.

   Seeing someone for a couple dates here-and-there is considered “casual” as in, “we are both single but like to go on dates when if works out for our schedules”

   Unless you're some sort of remarkable unpleasant creature, the driver would want some action. It's a sweeping generalisation, I know, but I know it, your BF knows it, most other people reading your post knows it and the only person that doesn't seem to know it is you.

   And then there's the aftermath – all your trip photos have Larry (I'm calling him Larry) in them, all your stories are of things that you and Larry did, together, in Europe, for a month.

   “Oh my God, we were in Madrid and Larry said the funniest thing…”

   “I got so drunk on Retsina and Larry had to carry me back…”

   This is literal hell for any boyfriend.
