As someone who's boyfriend also goes indoor climbing/bouldering, it's not a romantic setting. If it's her first time, he's probably going to be spending most of his time explaining the rules and safety procedures. Plus if it's a popular spot, it'll be pretty busy so they'll be waiting around.
