When I was younger, the stigma seemed way worse. Maybe I'm out of touch, but people my age really don't seem to mind at all. My last 10 responses while dating have been “so what? It's no big deal”.
In sex ed, they show you absolute worst-case scenarios. Same is often true with on-line research. I'm sure some have major issues, but I know many people with hsv2 (smaller area, it spread around a lot when I was in high school) and none of them really have trouble with breakouts or anything.
Wow, I can see how this has really shocked you to the core. Please do not think all men are like this . I personally encourage and support my partner to be a strong , confident, independent woman. She is my equal in everything and I love it . We share everything from laundry to fun . We chat about everything and take the time to listen to each other. I value her opinion in all matters.
There is an organization that your husband can join , they all have similar views to him , it's called The Taliban.
It's time for you to find a decent man who loves you for who you are . A man who supports you and uplifts you. Life is too short to spend it with some narcissist who wants to suppress and control you.

At the end of the day, she had to tell the truth. There's no future here for her not just with OPs dad, but possibly her kids if she doesn't speak up.
