In that case you'd have to figure out at least 3 months worth of income to on-line on while there, and make sure you have somewhere to go back to whether that's your parents, or an apartment that you are paying for in your home country even though its not being used. Switching countries isn't some light decision, it's a life-altering experience that must be well planned out.

It's super scary thinking about going to the police, I totally get that. It takes a lot of courage. The good thing is that you have courage because you used that to get away.
Even though chances are that they can't do anything in your case unless you have some sort of proof like pictures it will still help to show who he is.
If he has a file with several cases of being accused of attempted murder or “just” domestic violence then it starts to get really hot to pretend like his a nice person or that it was a one time thing when he at some point ends up in front of a judge.

i could be wrong but she sounds severely insecure but also very comfortable with that. or perhaps her reluctance to want to change is her bathing in the comfort of what she knows. she could just be really lazy and entitled and you cleaning up after her aint gonna help with anything. is she..happy with who/what she is?
