I'm not saying she owes him something in that sense…not like a slave. In terms of socialization though, you know things like courtesy and stuff, then yeah she does owe him that. Especially after showing she likes op already. Creepy? How? By saying she owes him respect? Common courtesy? How is that creepy? You know what's actually creepy? The random 30+ year old swooping in on a 19 year old who is clearly already with somebody.
Also your need to fixate on minor parts of things and try and steer it into some gender wars narrative. Again, she's not the good guy here. I decided early on that there are two kinds of men – those that are great day-to-day and those that excel at the grand gesture. My husband doesn’t do the grand gesture well at all. Even when he THINKS he’s done an amazing job at the grand gesture, he hasn’t. He really, really hasn’t. But you know what? He’s a hero every day in all that is and does. I decided it’s a good trade. It took me a long time to come to terms with the fact that I’ll never come home to candles, rose petals, and champagne.
On the other hand, I eventually realized that he doesn’t really care about gifts at all – I could give him tickets to the Super Bowl or a leaf from the back yard, and it would all be the same to him. I thought of him & produced a gift – that’s literally all that matters to him.
The way they’re covering for the wife I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s their opinion.
