I absolutely have with her, I guess I forgot to cover when sharing.
We have always had a rule where large purchases have to be mutually agreed. The main reasoning is to ensure we get things that we both want, and ultimately ensure we don’t go overdrawn.
Over a year I might suggest 6 or so things to get, and she always agrees. Over the same period she will suggest 50+ ideas; many of which I don’t think we need – like replacing a kettle/toaster that work perfectly fine. If I agreed to every idea, we would be tens of thousands of pounds in debt.
I agree to a lot of her ideas though. In the last 12 months I have agreed to lots of large purchases, but maybe a 30% success rate.
Going forward, I will agree to it all and hope she puts the breaks on when we can’t afford to pays the bills.
Why doesn’t he feel any responsibility?
Why is it a problem now and not way before all this life integration?
