A “fear of commitment” is something that comes into play once you're old enough to know what you want but you're still unable to seal the deal (usually because you're worried that someone better will come along). When you're a teenager this is just called 'not yet prepared to know what you want for the rest of your life'. If you've been dating the same person for a year you don't have some incapability to make a promise (even if temporary) and stick to it. You love him now and that's great. You may not love him forever and that's fine too. Early in life relationships are important even if few of them go the distance. This is because they teach us how to be better partners when we do finally meet “the one”. So maybe don't worry about this so much. Good luck.
about 5 years ago, some things in our relationship changed. It was no one's fault this changed, but we didn't handle it well. It's been years of struggle, multiple therapists, and no solutions.
