I'm late to the party but I also wanted to chime in with my own experience.
I was in your exact situation two years ago. I wanted flowers, maybe a poem. I dreamed of some kind of romance blossoming and bursting into tears, but no.
My partner proposed to me over a box of pizza.
I said yes, but I ached and ached at not getting the dream proposal I always wanted. I expressed it to my partner, he apologized, he reassured me how much he loved me and how much he couldn't hold back in that one, mundane moment over pizza and telling jokes and laughing at each other's belching, that he needed to ask me then and there.
And you know what, I love my proposal now. He got me my favorite food, with toppings I know he hates, and continues to love me every day in ways that are smaller but more important than a single moment in our lives. Our relationship is built on small moments of consideration, not big moments of perfection.
Go to the Police. This is just bonkers.
Yelling and being hurtful would be a deal-breaker for me. Yes it’s sad to break up, but it’s worse to be with someone who mistreats you. Stand up for yourself and reclaim your space and peace of mind
