IMO it's the fact that he added “(they/them)” in parentheses, instead of just saying “they.” Like he had to be extra pointing out pronouns, to be sure we all realize how ridiculous he thinks it is.
It sounds to me like you two should just divorce… first of all you were worried he was going to cheat on you. The big red flag though is your husband just did this to sleep with your friend…..to get a free pass so to speak. More than likely if things would have worked out between them, you’d been divorced anyway. Let this guy go, find one or stay with what you got. That’s what he gets just because all he was going to do was cheat on you and if he liked it enough ran off with her. He started this he can’t just change the rules because he got left out in the cold!
