Well, technically that might depend on the Anglo-Saxon part. If they were more Celtic or Germanic then maybe not so much. Especially if you have Irish heritage… or maybe you are half wasp. I’m going purely from very old memory, but the phrase, as I learnt it in school, just meant any white Protestant vaguely from england. I thought it was also a slang specifically for Americans with that heritage? Not actually currently English?
