I’m hesitant to accept it, because without him I wouldn’t where I am in life today. His honesty and belief in me has given me the courage to apply for jobs I never would have otherwise. I also would have continued extremely toxic friendships without him telling me they were toxic. I’m a bit naive when it comes to other people. I always see the good, and I struggle to see/understand how people are being manipulative or underhanded. He sees it every time and he’s really looked out for me in that way.

In their heads, they got a pass to sleep with each other and you were completely fine with it. In their heads, you changed the rules.
You should have never agreed to this but you did and you should have made ground rules to follow and set your boundaries.
It seems that you're fine with being in a relationship where you just have family security in place and not much else. I know you don't want anyone to mention divorce, but you definitely need some counseling. Through counseling, you'll both probably have to cut your best friend out of your life.

OP, you’ve said over and over again that it’s clear she doesn’t care about your feelings, or at the very least doesn’t prioritize them. Ok cool, you figured it out, she’s not good for you! Sooooo whats the problem here? Why are you continuously baiting her and putting yourself immediately back into a situation in which you’ve declared is hurtful, AND with someone whom you know for certain lies/cheats/has a low moral compass? Why would you even entertain her anymore? I think this is why people are saying you’re causing the drama because you’re 100% feeding into a situation that you 100% understand is bad news. Just stop. Or don’t stop… but realize your complaints around actively choosing to be in a toxic friendship won’t get you much empathy
