Lying by omission in order to get a desired outcome is selfish. In this case, lying by omission to be in a relationship that you think wouldn't happen if you were honest. You can’t pay “half the rent”. You either pay market rent (fair) or you pay the mortgage. Market rent allows you to on-line there or in any other similar place.
