And to be honest, while weddings are huge milestones for the majority of people, they are not an accomplishment like becoming a doctor (or any other uni graduate after a shitload of studying and suffering). They don't have to work for a wedding the same OP has to work for her degree. A degree, especially med school, is more than just saving money and 1+ years of planning, while a wedding (not the marriage) is basically just a huge party. How many people have more than one wedding in their lives? A lot. But how many people go through the whole process of becoming a doctor more than once in their lives? Probably just very very few.
All that combined with the brother being the golden child and always getting his way, OP should just do something good for herself and her accomplishments for once and enjoy her own graduation.
