You’re right. But I’m willing to wait and see. Haven’t truly decided if I want kids, and I don’t want to act based on a decision I’m not even sure of yet. If in few years if things change, we plan to revisit the conversations and discuss expectations. But for now, I want to adjust to how things are. A lot can change in my wants a few months from now or a few years!

Lets look at the facts – you’re friends/very close – you like her – you’ve both been drinking – she reciprocated after you make a move – some dude comes on to her and she immediately reciprocates – she’s single so as much as it hurts she can do who and what she wants

Honestly how it looks to me is: she is single, she’s been drinking, and when she’s had a drink she’s down for attention. Which is normal. Being sober and or in an actual relationship might change that, but you can’t say for sure.

What to do now? Honestly talk to her friends. They obviously know what happened so things you gotta find out: – is she normally down for making out with people when drinking? – has she ever said she actually likes you to them, or is it just one of those things where you add in a drink and friends cross lines sometimes?

Armed with that info, talk to her. If you just try and cut off the convo and don’t her say her piece, there’ll always be an awkwardness and given her flatmates are your friends as well you can’t have that.

So sit down, put your big boy trousers on as much as it hurts, and hear her out. Once you both have your side heard and are honest with each other, there’s a chance you can move on and still be friends.

This entire thread is shredding this dude for saying something heated in a very high emotional moment about an unexpected life changing discovery. The responses in reading here are acting like he's completely unhinged as if he dragged her to the basement and started beating her out something. I genuinely do not understand it.
