I personally think he slipped by saying it to wife. I think husband and friend are chatting. And men not to be mean but they don’t keep up on details as good as we do for the most part. I legit think he let that slip. I think wife doesn’t remember talking that because they really hadn’t talked that subject on that level, but the husband and friend had.
Thank you for pointing this out, I don’t feel that I own his trauma in this sense. It was just very shocking to me as he’s only discussed this with me and his therapist before (not even close childhood friends or family). But felt comfortable enough to share it with a women he’s barely known for a few weeks. It’s not that I feel he’s not allowed to talk about it, but I felt it was an extremely personal discussion to have with someone who was supposed to be a person he didn’t like. But I completely understand your point ?
I’d just recommend keeping in mind that the daughter is completely innocent and doesn’t deserve any blame for the situation. I’d also state that dad paying her tuition but not yours doesn’t mean he likes her better than he likes you. He might just be feeling guilty about being an absentee parent for her.
And that's why complete no contact should be at the top of OP's big list of things to do to get over her.
As a thirty four year old person, you’re an adult. You can cut them out of your life. Toxic and negative people have no place in one’s life, regardless of how you know them. Do what’s best for your own peace of mind and well being. Life is too short. It’s easy to love people from afar and wish them well all while having nothing to do with them.
OP’s girlfriend already changed her mind. She wanted kids and now she doesn’t. It’s up to OP, but it would be asking a lot for him to hope she changes her mind a second time.
