The only ones I can think of offhand would be Steve Harvey and Sam Elliott. Tom Selleck's didn't seem odd at the time, but I'm a dude so I don't really know.
It really depends on the people. “Clubbing” means different things to different people. For example, I would be totally find with my girlfriend going clubbing without me. I trust her, I know her interests, and I know she would never do something selfish in the name of “fun” because she is mature.
My ex-girlfriend I absolutely would not have been okay with her going clubbing. Because her definition of clubbing was booty shorts, getting high, or getting drunk. In addition to being addicted to attention.
Maybe she doesn’t like your friends? The fact that she has no issue in other situations with different people is quite telling. I mean, I’m not going to lie, I wouldn’t want to go on a trip like that and I don’t even have social anxiety. If she’s not 100% comfortable with your friends and their girlfriends, I don’t think it’s fair to expect her to come and spend time with everyone.
That said, she’s being unreasonable by not letting you go without her.
You REALLY must find a lot of good things in her to put up with that attitude.
TBH 11 years of not, I wont put up with it. I will communicate with her in a clear and concise way about how she ¡s fucking up, having double standarts and generally behaving like and ass. If she does an effort to change and some results are seen in a somewaht short place, I'd say the relationship is salvageable. If not, just dump her and move on, keep hitting the gym and get jacked as f*** and enjoy a great new life without hinderances.
You’re a piece of shit. Let your wife go.

This, as awful as it is…

And as you can imagine this is why we broke up.

Is she lonely? Does she have a pet? Is your other parent around?
