I never wanted kids but became “accidentally” pregnant during a rocky, half separated relationship.
I was completely set on having an abortion but I chose the wishes of the father. Out of moral obligation.
I still remember he was begging me on his knees to keep this baby, crying, distraught. He promised me that I wouldn’t have any responsibility over the child, that he would provide full care and all he asked was that I give him the chance to have his child. It took me about a week to decide, I considered getting a lawyer but our relationship was improving and I trusted him.
After I had her, I told the nurses to give her to him. He was so happy, I knew I made the right decision. We went our seperate ways.
He looked after her for 3 months when I started getting calls, whether he couldn’t get her to stop crying or he was worried there was something wrong with her. He was calling me every day.
He admitted to me “I don’t think I’m up to all this myself” and I told him she needed to be put up for adoption before she gets much older. Which he intensely disagreed with, I started to push harder for adoption but he was completely immovable on the subject and the matter needed both parents consent.
He started shaming me for not looking after her, started telling me how he wasn’t able to give her the care she needed, at one point he actually took her to my house on the weekend for a “visit”.
When I had mentioned how heavily we had discussed this and how I didn’t want anything to do with the child he said he wasn’t aware of how much he wouldn’t be able to handle it and he needed me.
Seriously considering leave the state.
It won’t be fine because I’ll go back to not being able to feel anything. He saved me. I love him more than anything in the world

First, okay I was kind of bullshitting with the “just to see what he'd look like”, it's true, in the same way I made him shave just to know his face wo a beard, but it's not the main reason in this case.
The issue is much deeper than what I wrote. One, I love fit men, gym men, and men that play sports. He's a drink beer and watch the sport on TV kind of guy, and it's fine, I wouldn't break up with him for not being exactly the superficial idea I have for a partner, but he could do better.
Secondly, his body subconsciously reminds me of my dad and I hate it. This is the strongest factor that bothers me. I never want my bf to be anything like my dad, because of what my mom has had to endure and endures every day. I never want a marriage like them, it might be trauma but sadly him being fat (amongst other things I might make another post about) makes me be reminded of my dad.
These are my reasons, his reasons for not being thin are laziness, his friends, and most importantly a lot of excuses. He's always been really lazy and the last reason I'd love him to lose weight is that I think I'll give him new energy and make him stop giving excuses for not doing certain activities with me that I'd really like because I'm an active sort of person.
Sorry this happened to you. Any man who is 40 and needs to or chooses to live with a 28 year old is an absolute loser IMO.
