Eric only gave you permission to have sexual relationships with other women, there was no permission given to become emotionally invested in them and he's set his boundaries clear on that. Your “falling back into” poly is cheating at this point.
He knows what he wants for himself but it doesn't seem like you do – and therapy may be a good way to help you lay your thoughts and feelings out and help you find that for yourself. But by the way you are talking about how much being poly means to you, divorce is probably going to be the likely outcome.
