your mother has outdated views and sounds like an unhealthy person, and while i wouldn't condemn her for that, i would try and recognize her myself as sick, and treat her as such. it's your life, not hers – you are the one who has to (and gets to) live it. and so while you may feel you want the blessing, it may be the most healthy to separate with love from her, at least in certain instances.
