Lol, nope. Owned guns since I was legally able to have them in my name. Grew up around guns and had gun safety drilled in my head since I was a kid.
You do not ever put your finger on the trigger unless you are ready and prepared to shoot. You do not ever point the gun, empty OR loaded, at another person or any other living thing unless you are fully prepared to shoot. That's how you avoid accidental discharges resulting In injuring another person.
If someone wants to own a gun, a dangerous weapon that was specifically designed to kill or cause grievous bodily armed, they should be allowed to own one IF and only IF they can pass a gun safety course with flying colors.
A gun is a responsibility just like driving. If you can't drive safely you don't get a liscence. If you can't handle a gun safely, you shouldn't have a gun. End of story.
