This, all my close friends are alternative people and so am I. We used to be way more intense and partied a lot. Now we are older, getting married, jobs, .. . The thing is we are still the same people just adults now. It is on the other hand easier to be friends with like minded people. We all listen to the same kind of music, like the same clothing, gigs, .. .
I just don't have that same 'vibe'(?) with other people.
Sorry this kind of reaction to a pony tail is unhinged and strange. I don't love it when my husband beard isn't neat but I wouldn't ever change how I treat him because of it, I also hate his flat caps and they are a turn off (for everyone, I can't stand them) but it doesn't change my feelings or attitude toward him at all. Its bizarre he would literally emtionally punnish you for a fashion choice- frankly that's a massive red flag, what happens when lofe happens? You gain a bit if weight? Your body changes during pregnancy etc etc, you have an illness that affects your looks like losing your hair or having a puffy face from medication etc etc… he's validly shallow and cruel in his character and I'd nope the hell away from him asap.
