I am 18 myself and know couples of people around and of my age group who have maturely handled this issue with simple communication of boundaries and feelings. I think at 18 you should have the maturity to care about this and modify your behaviour for your partners well-being.
Yep, especially when there's a notable age gap. Usually, the younger person is naive and optimistic that everything will just magically work out, especially because they tend to equate age with maturity. They don't have the life experience to understand why those kinds of relationships are unusual and why they typically raise an eyebrow from other people. It's a red flag they choose not to see because some young people are just very insecure and desperately crave the comfort of a committed relationship, even if it's unhealthy.

If you believe you won’t find someone then you know the current person isn’t that someone.
If you stay you are 100% guaranteed to be unhappy because you already are and this is the good easy time. But it would last.
If you leave you have a chance if you try, to do better.
You need to date someone more local so you can judge the relationship quicker.
its better to be single than financially crippled/without a job especially in the current economics condition.
