Be adults and talk to each other about who comes to the show, who brings a date, etc. If you can't work it out then maybe neither of you should be there. I have more important things to worry about the night of my concert than mediating between two people whom I love who seem to hate each other more than they love me.”
It's harsh but your parents are putting you into an untenable position here. It's not your job to mediate their ridiculousness. Not sure why you feel the need to “tactful” when your parents are acting like toddlers.
