I think you're way overthinking a comment that was clearly not literal in the slightest. Sure it was unkind. But if you actually think this is her wanting you dead and you can't get it out of your mind, you've got an actual illness and you need a therapist.

Because he doesn’t want the expectation of actually pleasing his partner sexually. He wants someone who doesn’t care about sex so he can tell himself it’s ok to not put in effort.

Your problem here is that you have been allowing these friends to “interrogate” you about this issue. You need to end this by telling them to stop sending you stuff and demanding “answers” about whether he is or isn't the guy they think it is.
If they think it's him and they want to try and make contact, they should do it THEMSELVES and stop pressuring you about it. You're not the guy's Mom. He's an adult. He made his own decisions. You weren't a part of them, and you're not a part of his life now. He is also the one who is on-line talking about himself. Unless he is a complete moron, he must know that there is a pretty good chance someone will recognize his voice or events he references.
Just take yourself out of this by telling these “friends” that they can do whatever they want, but you aren't interested in discussing it any further. It's not that very hot, honestly.
