One of main reasons why people divorce is due to financial differences.
He may have helped your mental health before… but when you have a financial responsibilities and a family he may become a burden.
He broke your trust and if he is truly sorry he needs to regain it. And the first step to do that is repay you for the money he stole and also repay back you for rent. He also needs to actually address his own financial situation as well. Once he does those both of things then it’s worth trying to forgive him. But until he does there’s always a risk he’ll take advantage of you financially again.
SAHMs do a lot of unseen and unthanked work, true. But having someone who spends all day away from home, from the people they love so thag there's money for a roof over their heads and food on the table seems to also be very underappreciated these days. Lots of stay at home parents don't seem to understand the stress of having a full time job, having to put up with whatever so the family doesn't live on the streets.
