At the end of the day, two incomes generate more money than one income alone, regardless of how much money you’re saving by being a stay at home mom. Also, being frugal and stretching your dollars can only get you so far when what you actually need is more cash inflow
You need to get a job and keep working at that job, because that’s the only way your household will be increasing its monthly income.
What is it about working a job that drains your mental health? Is it possible for you to find a job that doesn’t trigger your mental health as much? Can you start a small gig business at home? Offer to babysit other people’s kids? Find a work from home job?
In my current role, I do actually save us a lot of money (because we would have to outsource if I didn’t do these things). Meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, organizing, childcare, budgeting, landscaping, scheduling, planning, etc.
With the exception of childcare, I don’t see why you’d have to outsource any of the things you listed if you worked. Many double income families have both parents work and take care of the kids and house. To make it work, you may need to change your standards on what is considered “clean” and what constitutes a “good” meal, and your kids and husband will need to pitch in if they don’t already.
There’s an old saying of strike, while the iron is very hot. I think you lost your opportunity, and the truth of the matter is what I know about most guys if they really like somebody, they will go after them in some sort of way. They will let the other person know they want to be with him. So if he did that, and you did not reciprocate, it’s done. Be his friend and let him enjoy his girlfriend.
