At what point did any of this seem like a good idea to you? You don't know someone after a week and you don't know that you could have a relationship with them.
I know your town is small and options might be a little on the low side. But this isn't really a good enough excuse or reason to totally disregard your friends feelings like this. This ISN'T about her bi-polar, her reaction is 100% how you're treating her and how her ex is treating her.
