Here's the problem; Nathan doesn't want to be friends, he wants you and has already expressed that he is willing to break up your relationship.
So, let's toss out a hypothetical…
You go on the trip. Nothing happens. But, Nathan tracks down your bf because through conversation, he got just enough information about your bf that you are more than willing to provide to prove that you're serious with your bf, not interested in Nathan, etc… and Nathan sends James a msg (pick how, text, social media, etc) saying that while you were there, everyone got drunk, and you slept with him.
What is James going to do? And, after he breaks up with you, who is going to be standing there going, “but I'M still here, he left you, I won't”.
“Well if he did that, I wouldn't take him!”
Nathan has ALREADY said he doesn't care you're in a relationship. He wants you.
Why would you even put your relationship in jeopardy KNOWING that the entire time, Nathan is going to be hitting on you, trying to get you in bed through whatever means he can, and very well could sabotage your current relationship.
Because if you think it won't happen, someone wouldn't do that, let me tell you the story about an ex that did just that to me, tracking down my current gf while I was in basic training, telling her that I cheated on her (current) with her (ex), just because she wanted to.
What you do is your decision. But, KNOWING that this is Nathan's goal, I wouldn't even go for any reason.
