What's unattractive to her may be attractive to someone else and that's the person you should be focusing on
Depends on if you see this relationship lasting.
If you do, then do something, even if it’s just telling her happy birthday, with maybe some flowers.
If no, then don’t do anything.
I consider an emotional affair when someone is actively emotionally engaged in a relationship: saying they love them, meeting up, saying they miss them. Maybe discussing their relationship problems with them.
Normal friend behavior with an internal, not acted on, crush or belief of soul mates in this instance, isn't EXACTLY emotional cheating. To give her the benefit of the doubt, apparently, she's only friends with him and has realized (on the inside) that her soul is better matched with this other guy's soul.
You've got to decide if you want to be his mother the rest of your life.
Unless there’s some sort of language or cultural barrier (which honestly wouldn’t be excuse at this point), you’ve been working together everyday for a year.
He largely gets it right, so he knows your name. Early on I could understand. Now? Absurd.
What’s your name? If you’re uncomfortable sharing, no worries. PM me if you’d like, but also no worries if you’re uncomfortable there as well. Is it a difficult name? Either way, I’m struggling to find an excuse for him after this amount of time.
You said it’s affecting your working relationship, which makes it a real problem. I know you’ve said it in front of your boss, but have you spoken to them privately? They might not realize it’s bothering you.
Additionally to what others have suggested I want to add: maybe he just doesn’t have much of a presence as a person? I am like this, people tend to forget about my existence when I’m not around. They don’t mean it in a bad way usually it’s just that I don’t leave much of an impression with a lot of people. This could lead to this repeated phenomenon of him being “excluded” when in reality just no one really thought of him for whatever reason. Don’t get me wrong, this sucks, but it’s most of the time not a direct attack or conscious thing…
Although, if people really are actively hiding things and activities from him that he would probably like participating in, then that seems more unlikely.
