Honestly the puppy stage is the worst. I always say to my other half that I will NEVER get a dog from puppy age again, it was worse than a newborn. Then one day, something seemed to shift. He settled himself instead of getting over tired, he did as he was told and his nippy little teeth and claws were replaced with older ones that scratched less.
I can't tell you how many times I cried over my puppy, thinking I was in over my head and how tiring and draining it is. I loved him to death but I regretted getting him. He's 2 now and he is my whole world, I adore him!
Could you book some puppy classes? Are there any other friends with dogs that they could meet so the puppy can learn from them? Your wife is probably overwhelmed and could do with a helping hand.
