I'm going to disagree with this. I realize that this is the “maximally safe” advice but its not how many people live and the world is not full of people who will kill you and dump your body – just a few.
There are ways to evaluate a stranger – are they known by others at the venue, especially women? What's their reputation? Do they offer the ride or does someone else suggest they can give you the ride?
There are ways to mitigate the risk here that people do all over the place. Absolutist positions aren't helpful.
But why do you need to be aware? You shared your feelings for her, she said she wasn’t in a good place, you continued treating her like a prize to be won over, she tells you to stop, you don’t listen to her and continue, she needs support because she made a huge mistake, and your response was to take it personally. At no point did she owe you anything, YOU chose to dote on her. If your friendship is conditional on her eventually dating you, then you’re not a very good friend.
