I was living with my baby’s father and he said I needed to see a therapist. I went and she even saw us both but after just a few sessions, she told me I was fine but I should leave him because he was controlling and not a good partner or father. He wanted me to improve and he got what he wanted.

Women being platonic with me is not women using men. She didn’t want to be with him. She owes him absolutely nothing.
He shouldn’t have pretended to be a friend while he was just trying to make her have sec with him.
Other then “weathering the storm” so speak, there isn’t much you can do. You can calmly explain to your mother that one action doesn’t define a person, and that you know your husband better then she does.
Further, even if he were out of the picture, the child would be your child and her grandchild. Your body, your choice, you child, your future. His participation shouldn’t determine how she feels about those aspects.
I’ll be honest…she won’t be receptive to those arguments. Parents like to be right, especially when they are being protective. But if you can stay the course, and if your husband is a model citizen, husband, and father when he gets out she may come around
