I am usually on the pursue your career side the times I have seen similar scenarios, but they are usually fairly short relationships. When a relationship is that long and you still seem happy with the person it's not really something I would throw away especially considering it isn't a life changing offer, but then again you don't have a safety net incase the relationship doesn't work. Is he bothered by you not having a job? Do you have future plans as in marriage or kids?

You're being downvoted because you are a self-righteous child who is still wrong but utterly incapable of perceiving it, hence your crusade to “correct” everyone who has identified your atrocious behavior and your feeble attempts to hide it under a cloak of “you can't judge my being an ass because it's my culture.” You'd be surprised how familiar I am with the culture in question, and being an ass is not usually considered a vital component of it.
Actually, those are perfectly acceptable questions to ask a woman, too. Even women have egos that can be bruised. While, yes, they are more directed towards men in their wording, in their intention, they are valid questions that even a therapist would pose.

I doubt she jumped to thinking OP is a jealous stalker but I also think she could have had that possibility in the back of her mind and wanted to keep from getting into it. Either way, I feel like their entire interaction was the neighbor not wanting to get into it.
