Way to stomp his boundaries. He wants privacy regarding his wealth and his family's wealth live and you want to show it off. Wanting to show people he's got money and is out of town (hotel room posts during trip, etc) is a great way to put a target on his and by extension your back for thieves and others who mean harm.
It's perfectly reasonable to say, “hey please don't post about these things that show I have money/spend a lot of money, I dislike it.” Then you go and do it and are surprised he's upset?
