You didn't do anything wrong. The type of guy he is is a mamas boy. My guess is that part of the reason you barely argued in your relationship is that he doesn't know how to say what he wants to people, learned from his relationship with his mom. He won't stand up for himself (or you) to her. He doesn't like to rock the boat. He will go through his whole life doing what his mama wants, even at the expense of his partner, his children and himself. He's a mamas boy. Mama said it was time to break up so he did.

I think that for your safety you should talk to one of the woman that were there and find out what actually happened, if something serious happened then even if he's not showing signs now he could do something similar to you in the future
My advice on this situation is to thank her for the red flag and move on. You said it yourself, she could have chosen to have a conversation about it, instead she chose an argument.
Secondly, why do you consider yourself a feminist? Don’t get me wrong, I think every group should advocate for themselves. So I don’t have a problem with feminism existing, but when men say they’re feminists it’s a sign of gaslighting to me. Feminism likes to say it’s about equality and decades ago you could make that argument. However today women have more legal rights than men (see the court system for evidence). If you support equality for all demographics, you’re egalitarian.
