I know I’ve been doing it my whole entire life on some level. It’s rewarding though, I’ve accomplished a lot more than what I would’ve been doing, left my own devices
So people in a subculture prefer other people at the same level as them in the subculture.

Why wouldn't these guys want to have a partner that likes the things they like?
IDK, at 21, I had enough moral ethics not to try to score men involved in relationships. That’s old enough to judge something like that. The only excuse is if they genuinely had no idea the guy was taken, or I can even see one being manipulated into believing any trash talk of gf or promising to break up. Maybe if OP is curious, she could ask Samantha what’s up with that.
I just read your old post, and it looks like your wife was disregarding your boundaries way before you got married and possibly cheating on you. She has manipulated you into being in a throuple so she can, as they say, have her cake and eat it too. This relationship should've ended a long time ago.
She either likes someone already, and wants a few weeks to screw around while you’re her backup plan, or she wants to go out and have single girl fun with random people while keeping you around as a backup plan. And she wants to be able to say “we were on a break!” If you find out.
No thanks – relationships need to be all in, not one foot out the door.
It's not about stacking benefits or demerits. It's about love, and whether or not you feel like your partner has your best interests at heart and vice versa.
