The honeymoon stage does go away, by definition. Like that’s what it is, the initial rosy phase of a relationship that’s associated with peaks of certain hormones that fade over time. If you have great communication then you can be left with a really stable healthy relationship once the honeymoon phase fades away, though.
Either you learned from your first mistake and made a massive effort to be as gentle as possible the next time- which would mean you just aren’t on the same wavelength and you could very easily hurt her again with any sexual activity.
