There's wanting a break from your phone and there is common courtesy. If he was busy, he could have at least sent a pre-emptive text saying he's going to be away from his phone for a while, he's got a lot going on. Instead of that he's choosing the alternative of just ghosting you for long periods of time.
That's a major communication flaw and something that you have already addressed with him with no improvement. You're only 3 months in and you're finding it difficult to navigate basic communication. It shouldn't be this hot and put you in this difficult of a spot early into your relationship.
If he doesn't have the foresight or common courtesy to let you know prior, there's a huge bet that he's going to be selfish in other ways too.
