From what I understand, the US Postal Service is very serious about mail theft and about only opening mail addressed to you. Only a few exceptions apply such as a parent or legal guardian opening mail for a minor child they are responsible for. Beyond demonstrating someone stole my mail out my mailbox or opened my mail, why would I have to carry the burden of proof that it hurt me further? In my town, someone stole mail out of the blue USPS drop off boxes. Now, nobody feels safe dropping off mail there. Serious problem.!

What he said about you being too good and deserved better is a common things that cheaters(or those who aren't bf/gf material) commonly say AFTER they get what they want.
I would suggest discerning the next guy a ton better and with more patience before investing in him. It's clear that this didn't happen in this case.
Continually, we had counselors tell him he was ‘too intense’ and ‘no one could stand up to the expectations he put on me’- ex responded with he’d ‘eventually break me’. What eventually happened was a battle of wills. Ex is extremely charming, charismatic, and intelligent. He was physically demanding in size and could work a room. It took years to find a counselor (she was solely mine for about 8 sessions) that actually saw through his BS. First time he met her, he reached out to shake her hand, pulled her in close, put other hand on her shoulder and said, “there are somethings you need to know about my wife” and she shut him down. That counselor gave me the strength and direction to get out.
